Peptide Synthesis Description

Background
Provide the desired sequence and we will synthesize your linear, cyclic or phosphoamino acid containing peptide for further use as an antigen. Points to consider when ordering peptides 1. Peptide length - peptides longer than 25 Amino Acids are more difficult to make and purify 2. Is the peptide water soluble - allows for ease of peptide conjugation 3. Does the peptide contain motifs that require special building blocks ( Some examples are SS, SSS, IT, TST, IS ) 4. Does it have hydrophobic motifs (Some examples are LLLL , AAAA and YFWF 5. Does the peptide contain multiple cysteine residues - may form disulfide bonds
Purity/Specifity
Rockland provides peptides at two (2) different purity levels to meet specific client needs. The manufactured peptides can be either > 85% purity or >90 % purity. Purities of > 85%: polyclonal and monoclonal antibody production, non-critical cell based assays, T cell assays, preliminary in vitro binding experiments. Purities of >90%+: receptor binding studies, modification state-specific antibody production (phospho, methyl, acetyl, etc) and other basic work can utilize this range of purities. Greater than 80% pure.
