1.0 M Tris HCl pH 8.0 Description

Background
Tris solution is an abbreviation of the organic compound known as tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane. Tris is extensively used in biochemistry and molecular biology. In biochemistry, Tris is widely used as a component of buffer solutions, such as in TAE and TBE buffer, especially for solutions of nucleic acids.
Synonyms
Tris solution, THAM, tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane
Storage Condition
Store container at room temperature (18° to 26° C) prior to opening. If desired, the solution may be stored at 4° C or less. Some salts may precipitate out of solution at lower temperature. Allow buffer to equilibrate to room temperature (18° to 26° C) to restore solubility of some salts.
Application Note
Tris solution is suitable for molecular immunology, molecular biology and nucleic acid methodologies, when applicable. Visit our newly expanded web site at www.rockland-inc.com for methods using this and other buffers. This product is a concentrated stock solution and should be diluted appropriately with distilled, deionized water or equivalent to its final working concentration. This buffer consists of 1.0 M Tris HCl at pH 8.0.  Meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade (WFI) water.
Purity/Specifity
Tris HCl 1.0 M at pH 8.0 is meticulously prepared using ultra pure reagents dissolved in highly polished pharmaceutical grade (WFI) water.
