25% Off Cancer Antibodies
Conjugates of streptavidin (Streptomyces avidinii) and avidin (hen egg white) are recommended for use with biotin conjugates of proteins and antibodies. A derivatized biotin molecule is used that contains a long spacer arm moiety between the biotin molecule and the protein of interest to minimize steric hinderance and maximize binding. This compound, biotin-epsilon-aminocaproic acid (BAC), is used at Rockland to effectively increase the stability of the biotin-avidin complex.
BAC conjugated to Affinity Purified antibodies are readily suited for use with Rockland's labeled avidin and streptavidin in various enzyme or fluorochrome based immunological assays. Biotin conjugated Affinity Purified antibodies are 0.22 µm filtered and are lyophilized in 0.02M phosphate buffer, 0.15M sodium chloride, 0.01% (w/v) sodium azide pH 7.2. Always reconstitute the product with distilled water as stated on the product data sheet provided with each order.
