Two mouse strains are available upon request or a submission of a different mouse strain can be used upon request) Ascites projects have 3 phases, phase 1 is the scale up of tissue culture to obtain sufficient the required cells, and phase 2 includes the priming of the mice and the injection of the prepared cells, phase 3 is recovery of the ascites fluid. Ascites (immunodeficient) is typically produced in the Nude (nu/nu) or SCID (ICR) mouse strains unless another strain is otherwise specified on request. Optimized methods, include the quantity and volume of injected hybridoma cells, are used to establish peritoneal soft tumors. Subsequently accumulation of ascetic fluid occurs and this fluid is harvested to recover the produced antibody and cells are removed.
The ascites method generates high yields of antibody, ascites is frequently processed, purified or characterized depending on your particular requirements. Commonly protein G or protein A purification is requested to obtain a purified final antibody product. Assay development and reporter molecule conjugation services are also available upon request.
