Background

Glucose oxidase antibody is specific to glucose oxidase enzyme. Glucose oxidase is an oxido-reductase that catalyses the oxidation of glucose to hydrogen peroxide and D-glucono-δ-lactone. Glucose oxidase is commonly used for the determination of free glucose in body fluids (diagnostics), and in the food industry. It also has many applications in biotechnologies, for example enzyme assays for biochemistry including biosensors in nanotechnologies. Glucose oxidase is often extracted from Aspergillus niger.

Anti-glucose oxidase antibody was prepared from monospecific antiserum by a delipidation and defibrination. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum, purified and partially purified Glucose Oxidase [Aspergillus niger].  Cross reactivity against Glucose Oxidase from other tissues and species may occur but have not been specifically determined.

Anti-glucose oxidase antibody has been tested by western blot and is suitable to be assayed against 1.0 ug of Glucose Oxidase [Aspergillus niger] in a standard ELISA using Peroxidase conjugated Affinity Purified anti-Goat IgG and (ABTS (2,2’-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:1,000 to 1:4,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product. Optimal concentration should be determined by the researcher.

Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Expiration date is one (1) year from date of receipt.
